Google Mobile, Panda, Penguin... UGH!

It is estimated by many, including some top Google officials that the roll-out of the April 21st Google Mobile Update will be followed by a drop in Google search results for millions of website rankings. Google officials are also quoted as saying that this update will affect a larger volume of website rankings than that of past Panda or even Penguin updates.

It may be a good time to share with you what we at VGI consider to be the most important steps in performing safe and reliable search engine ranking solutions.

First, there is no need to analyze your website just yet

We feel that its important on so many levels to start first by analyzing those websites already ranking at the top of a respective Google search. It is much easier to discover what Google is looking for when taking this step.

While there is a long list of data which we will want to consider, I have listed the most common as we can confirm that NOT ALL SEARCHES ARE EQUAL and the best choice of ranking methods for a pizza company is most likely going to differ from that of, say, a plumber.

Here are just a few of what we consider...

a)"Link Velocity" and the month by month acquisition of new links since the very existence of each of your competitors domains.
b) "Backlink Authority" is the grouping of those links into one of four types: High, Good, Low and No Authority links.
c) "Domain TLD Distribution" is the examination of links with special attention to the percentage of each respective TLD when comparing to that of the overall profile. (in other words .com, .edu, .co, .gov, etc.)
d) "Content Analysis" is the examination of the "Anchor Text" used and its respective percentage when compared to the overall backlink "Anchor Text" profile.
c) "Google Page Rank" is best defined by Google...
Google PageRank (Google PR) is one of the methods Google uses to determine a page's relevance or importance. Important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results. Google PageRank (PR) is a measure from 0 - 10. Google Pagerank is based on backlinks.

While there are other steps that we take to analyze a websites Off Page strategy, I think those mentioned are our most common considerations in determining the correct path for the development of Google-friendly Off Page Optimization solution.
