Cottage Profile Four bedroom, 2200 square foot, waterfront cottage located on Pendall Point, Lake Huron, 12 km south of Tobermory This lovely cottage has two floors of living area offering beautiful views of Lake Huron. On the second floor is a living room, dining room, kitchen, four piece bathroom and two large bedrooms. The living room contains two love seats, and a comfy chair which surround a wood stove with glass doors for viewing the fire. There are also two large sliding glass doors facing the lake. Adjacent to the living room is the dining area containing a large wooden table with six chairs and available seating for eight plus a panoramic view of Lake Huron through a second set of sliding glass doors. Next to the dining area is a large fully equipped kitchen containing ample counter and cupboard space, a large fridge, stove, microwave oven, and breakfast bar. All with a clear view of the dining room, living room and the lake beyond. The two separate sliding glass doors lead out to a 10 by 40 foot deck with a spectacular view of Lake Huron. This deck is surrounded by deck glass which provides an unobstructed view of the lake. The deck contains a patio set with glass table, large umbrella and six chairs. There are also three muskoka chairs and a 4 person hot tub (available for a $100 fee). There is a second deck located at the back of the building where 2 muskoka chairs and BBQ are located. This is a nice shady area on hot sunny days and is sheltered from the wind for barbecuing. Two large bedrooms each containing a queen size bed are located on the second floor. The master bedroom has a sliding glass door leading out to the outside deck and hottub as well as a LCD 32" flatscreen for T.V. viewing. In the closet in the hallway you will find a decent stereo system with a great collection of over 100 music CD's, Ipod docking station and not to mention some great old vinyl. On the lower level, there is a large second living room with laminate flooring, pine trim and doors, a leather couch and love seat surrounding a gas fireplace and a 40 inch flat screen television with satellite receiver. Plus over 50 DVD's for your viewing pleasure. Of the two large bedrooms on the ground floor, one contains a queen size bed and the other has a set of bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on top, great for the kids. There is also a three piece bath (shower) and full laundry facilities provided. The cottage is located on a large private lot with over 400 feet in depth and 110 feet of frontage on the lake, it is well set back from the road and completely screened from other properties At the rear of the cottage is a flat area for the kids to play. The cottage is surrounded by 30-50 foot cedar forest. A trail leads from the cottage down to the shoreline. A large 16 by 16 foot deck in located at the waters edge containing four Muskoka chairs and a lounger all with a fantastic view of the open waters of Lake Huron. At the water's edge the shoreline consists of some flat limestone rock with rubble. The water gets deep fairly quickly. A short two minute walk along the shoreline leads to a point of land that you can shallow dive into 4-5 feet of water. Swim shoes are a definite necessity and recommended. The cottage comes with the use of two sit on top kayaks. These are very stable vessels and great for exploring all the bays and inlets along the shoreline. (Mid May - Sept) The cottage is located on a paved road. Across the road forms part of the Bruce Peninsula National Park. It is a 12 km bike ride to Tobermory. The scenic Village of Tobermory is located 13 km away. Take a trip into town and stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true. Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment, or the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron are available a 15 minute drive away.
