Cottage Profile Private, 1700 square foot, three-bedroom cottage perched on top of a 30 foot cliff overlooking beautiful Gillies Lake. Gillies Lake is located near Dyers Bay, on the Northern Bruce Peninsula. The main living area of the cottage boasts cathedral ceilings with large windows that overlook the lake, a beautiful limestone fireplace, and local white cedar throughout. The large sitting area provides ample seating space for everyone in the party whether curling up with a book, or watching the TV with DVD player and VCR. It is also an ideal place to relax and enjoy a view of the water from the comfort of the cottage. At the other end of this open area is the eat in kitchen. A fridge, stove and microwave provide the necessities for cooking, and a table with four chairs is located here. Sliding glass doors lead from the kitchen area out to the wraparound deck, where you will find a patio set for six and a propane bbq. Enjoy outdoor dining while overlooking the water. Two of the three bedrooms are located on the main living level. Both of these rooms have Queen beds. The third bedroom, with two doubles, is located on the second storey. The bathroom is on the main floor, and is a four piece with both tub and shower. A mudroom with full laundry facilities is available on the main floor of the cottage for your convenience. Outside of the cottage, enjoy the use of the large 1000 square foot wrap around deck with Hot Tub. An outdoor fire pit is available for your family to enjoy in the evenings, and both a canoe and rowboat are provided for your family to explore the lake. Gillies lake is a large, deep, clear lake with very little development. 80% of the lake is protected by the Niagara Escarpment Plan. The cottage property has 200 feet of frontage onto the lake. There is a long winding driveway leading from the road to the cottage. There is a small 30 foot escarpment between the cottage and the lake. To access the lake, there are rough stairs chiseled out of the escarpment leading down to the water. At the lake the owner has constructed a new lakeside deck. The shoreline consists of flat limestone rock to the water's edge. The lake is approximately 50 feet deep at the water's edge. The lake has a healthy population of Lake Trout, Bass,Perch and Whitefish and the cottage is also located only 4 km from the famous Lark Whistle Gardens. For those who like to hike the Bruce Trail, it is located a short distance away and provides some of the most spectacular hiking in North America. For cyclists, the area has miles of back country roads to explore or follow the spectacular shoreline road to Cabot Head Light House. This ride is squeezed in between the 150 foot cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment and the waters of Georgian Bay. For 80% of the road there is no development on either side, making this a nice place to enjoy a bike ride or a walk Additional amenities include: firewood provided, beds: 2 queen beds, bring your own drinking water, number of baths: 1 bathroom with bathtub and shower, living area: 1700 square feet, life jackets, cd player, 2 stations), television (32", outdoor fire pit, patio furniture (patio table, 2 doubles, water source: well water, 2 tandem kayaks, 6 chairs), number of bedrooms: 3 bedrooms.
